The Devotion Index

Privacy

Last updated: 6 August 2026

This policy is being finalised. The organisation accountable for information collected here, and the address for privacy enquiries, are being confirmed before the Index goes fully live. What follows describes what is collected and why; the details still to be confirmed are marked.

Who is responsible for your information

Responsible organisation: to be confirmed

Privacy contact: to be confirmed

What we collect, and when

If you ask to be notified about a brand

When a brand is not yet in the Index you can leave an email address to hear when it is measured. We collect your email address; your name, if you choose to give it, which is optional; the brand name you searched for; and the date, together with the exact consent wording shown to you at the time.

Nothing else. We do not ask for a company, a job title or a phone number.

When you visit

We use Google Analytics to understand how the Index is used: which pages and brands people look at, how they arrived, and roughly where in the world they are.

This sets a cookie that recognises your browser, so return visits are recognised as the same browser and your activity is linked across a visit and between visits. We do not use it to identify you by name, and we do not combine it with the email address you may have given us.

Google processes this information on our behalf, on servers outside Canada. Your IP address is truncated before it is stored.

You can refuse it: most browsers can block cookies for a site, and Google’s own opt-out add-on stops its analytics collecting anything from your browser anywhere.

If you have an account

Access to the private control centre is by email link. We store the account holder’s email address and sign-in activity, and a sign-in cookie is set for that person only. This applies to the people who operate the Index, not to visitors.

Why we collect it

To tell you when a brand you asked about is added to the Index.

How long we keep it

The retention period is being confirmed.

Who else sees it

Google provides the analytics described above. It processes that information on our instructions, on servers outside Canada.

We use other service providers to operate the site: the list is being finalised. They process information on our instructions and for no other purpose.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with the brands covered by the Index.

Your choices

You can ask us at any time to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Write to our privacy contact address.

Every notification email we send includes a way to unsubscribe, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.

Consent

We ask for your consent before collecting your email address, and we record the exact wording you agreed to alongside your address. If that wording changes later, it does not change what you agreed to.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date above. Material changes affecting information already collected will be notified to the people affected.
